Wallimage s.a. and its subsidiary Sowalim s.a., were set up in Mons in 2001. Together, they act as the Walloon regional body for the audiovisual industry. The aim of Wallimage is to help structure the audiovisual industry in the Walloon Region and to support the set-up and development of audiovisual service companies, with investments and loans. Wallimage and Sowalim also act as co-producers for full-length feature films that use Walloon talent and technicians, either in production or in post-production. VAF - Flemish Audiovisual Fund |

The Flemish Audiovisual Fund (VAF) supports audiovisual production in, as well as international co-productions with Flanders. The Fund was set up by the Flemish government in 2002 and is headquartered in Brussels. The aims of the Flemish Audiovisual Fund are threefold: to develop a sustainable Flemish audiovisual industry, to encourage and support upcoming audiovisual talent and to promote a vibrant audiovisual culture in Flanders. VAF accomplishes four main tasks. It provides financial support for audiovisual productions; promotes these in Flanders as well as abroad; grants scholarships; finances professional training and supports/organises workshops; and carries out surveys in the audiovisual field. MEDIA is a six-year programme of the European Union to strengthen the competitiveness of the European film, TV and new media industries and to increase international circulation of European audiovisual product. MEDIA Desk offices are located in EU countries + some East European countries. The Desks are responsible for informing and advising the professionals in the film, TV and multimedia sector about the audiovisual policies and programmes of the EU. Independent production and distribution companies can apply for development or distribution funding in the form of grants and interest free loans. Financial assistance is available for training providers and organisers of markets and festivals. Individuals may also benefit from subsidised places on training courses and international markets. Africalia is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2001 and aims to make a contribution to sustainable development based on the needs and priorities of people and organizations in Africa. Africalia wants to draw public attention to contemporary African art and culture, particularly in Belgium. Africalia organizes a variety of cultural events and supports contemporary African art - in the audiovisual field, cultural organizations based in Africa can apply for a grant of up to 25,000 euro for projects in these categories: film, radio, documentary / animated / short films, post production and distribution of feature films.
