This year's Ibiza International Film Festival was dedicated to Terry Gilliam, the festival's main patron along with John Hurt (currently filming in Australia) and all of his films have been screened at the event. Today at a private lunch given for Gilliam in Terry Thomas' house in the north of the island, over a hundred guests were present to see Gilliam receive an award for his creative genius - the award - a complete surprise - was however a total success when he was presented with a log of wood - a hammer - a chisel - a can of gold spray paint and an instruction sheet on how to carve a falcon - Gilliam said, "This is by far the best award that I have ever ever had". Festival organisers, Xavi Benlloch and Gail Fear explained that this year had been a struggle with cash but that the festival is a labour of love and that they intend to carry on no matter what - guests at the party commented that the selection of films at the festival this year was excellent. Tomorrow the awards ceremony will be held at the fabulous country hotel Atzaro in the heart of the Ibiza.
